They don't have big name recognition, and some of their (especially older) products have. So I'll take a look at TPLink (its funny, I had always written them off completely as a bottom tier shovel ware producer, but they do get good reviews pretty consistently). Unifi is great if you enjoy constantly fiddling with stuff to keep it from self-immolating, but I have a family that yells at me if the Internet is down. But more importantly for me, I found Unifi software to be extremely buggy, and bugfixes just introduced other bugs. Still more effort than it's worth for something that's selling itself on its ease of use. I must be missing something, what Unifi account? I've got 1 UniFi AP-nanoHD and 2 UniFi Switch 8 POE-60W (probably going to get a 3rd for other reasons as well), and hosting the controller on a Linux VM on my NAS. I got disenchanted by UBNT too, so I'm also a fellow Unifi refugee. Even if you use Omada, you don't need an account which you do with Unifi. You don't need Omada if you don't want to use a controller, their WAPs can work standalone. TP-Link EAP/Omada if you want to save money but I don't know how good they are.
